Description

Appen USA is seeking a compassionate and skilled Mental Health Counselor to join our AppenWell Advocates team in a remote capacity. This role is critical in supporting the psychological well-being of our employees, offering confidential counseling services, leading support groups, and providing resources to help navigate personal and professional challenges. As a Mental Health Counselor, you will play a key role in fostering a supportive work environment that prioritizes mental health and wellness.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide confidential, one-on-one counseling sessions to employees via teletherapy platforms, addressing issues such as stress, anxiety, depression, and work-life balance.
  • Facilitate virtual support groups that offer a safe space for employees to share experiences and coping strategies.
  • Develop and implement wellness programs and workshops focused on mental health awareness, stress management, and resilience building.
  • Collaborate with HR to identify broader workplace trends that may impact mental health and recommend proactive strategies for improvement.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of mental health best practices and integrate these into counseling and support services.
  • Ensure confidentiality and privacy of employee consultations in accordance with professional ethical standards and company policies.


Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Licensed to practice mental health counseling in the United States (e.g., LPC, LMHC, LCSW).
  • 1+ years of experience in mental health counseling, with a strong background in teletherapy and virtual support services.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive issues with empathy and confidentiality.
  • Experience in developing and facilitating mental health programs and workshops.

  • Empathetic Listener: Strong ability to listen actively and empathetically to understand and support employees' mental health needs.
  • Effective Communicator: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective counseling and collaboration with team members.
  • Digital Proficiency: Comfortable using teletherapy platforms and digital tools to conduct virtual counseling sessions and workshops.
  • Crisis Management: Ability to manage crises effectively, providing immediate support and intervention as needed.
  • Program Development: Skills in developing and implementing mental health programs and initiatives that promote wellness and resilience among employees.
  • Cultural Competency: Understanding and respecting diverse cultural backgrounds and experiences, tailoring counseling approaches to meet the diverse needs of employees.
  • Ethical Judgment: Strong ethical framework for handling confidential information and making decisions in the best interest of employee well-being.
